Visiting Texas

Now that the events were updated.....

We found out last year that we'd be moving to Texas. In March, we flew down to visit.

Being from green Virginia, this sight from the plane window over Texas was not very welcoming. Neither was the crazy wench two seats over talking about how everyone was going to die because San Angelo is in a drought.

We decided we wanted to buy a house and stop throwing money into renting. So this trip was to find a house to buy. We were pretty much on the same page with what we wanted. At least 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a yard, and a garage. We're pretty easy to please I suppose.

We spent Day 1 exploring the city on our own, Day 2 meeting with the real estate agent and touring properties, and our offer on a house was accepted by the end of the day...

[By the way....this was our Realtor, Benjamin Beaver. I have to share this awesome commercial he made, and also say that he is as cool and down-to-earth as the video makes him seem. We did our research, but he made buying a house in another state very easy!]

I'm pretty sure we were pretty awesome clients. So, here's the link to my Photobucket account to see the house we bought.

We had nothing left to do but enjoy the rest of our visit. So we had some food and beers at The Grill

And we drove to Abilene, TX and had some beers at Cypress Street Station Abilene Brewing Co

This was a fun event, as the new bartender showed up absolutely shit-face drunk, was fired in front of us, and the manager quit and was rehired by the owner....all within an hour.

We also had food and beer at Zero One Alehouse

And I had some Texas waffles.

Basically we spent the rest of our trip being alcoholics and eating occasionally. Don't judge me.
